Director Ryan Coogler has confirmed that Black Panther 3 will be his next film, according to Deadline. The first Black Panther movie was released in 2018, and the sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, was released in 2022.

The first Black Panther film featured Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa in what became one of his most recognized roles. Boseman died in 2020, and his performance in the film has continued to be honored by fans, film organizations, and his colleagues in the industry.

As Coogler begins work on the third installment, he has not released any information regarding the plot, cast, or release date.

When Coogler found out he would direct Black Panther, he did something beautiful. He and his wife went back to the comic-book store he loved as a kid. Ryan picked out the two Black Panther comics they had, and his wife took a photo of him. He sent that photo to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. In a 2017 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kevin later said, "He's making this movie for his 8-year-old self."

Black Panther had a mostly Black cast and crew, and it showed the world how powerful it is to tell stories from different cultures. Kids everywhere saw themselves as warriors, kings, scientists, and heroes. It reminded all of us that everyone deserves to feel seen.

Both Black Panther films have earned more than $2.21 billion worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. But for Ryan Coogler, the impact went beyond box office numbers. He turned a childhood dream into a story that reached people around the world.
