Elias Floyd has been found safe. The Newton County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the 7-year-old, who had been missing since 1 p.m. on December 2, 2025 from Newton County, Georgia, was located the same day..
The boy's guardian previously said she works from home and homeschools him, but noticed he was missing after calling for him and receiving no response several hours after he was last seen inside the home, according to 11Alive.

A BOLO was immediately issued and authorities grew increasingly worried for his safety as temperatures were expected to fall below 30°F overnight. The boy also had no shoes on. The Georgia State Patrol assisted in the search using a helicopter and the boy was found safe.
Investigator Eric Threets with the Newton County Sheriff's Office handled the case. In 2024, Threets was presented with the Rookie of the Year award by the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

"We strive to protect and assist the citizens of Newton County, and we will continue to do so," police said.
