MacKenzie Scott just changed lives again. She donated $63 million to Morgan State University. That’s on top of the$40 million she gave them a few years ago. Together that’s $130 dollars that will help students who dream big but sometimes feel the world is stacked against them.

Morgan State is a historically Black university in Baltimore, Maryland. It was founded more than 150 years ago, during a time when education for Black Americans was almost impossible to get. Morgan State has always stood for hope and opportunity. It has helped shape leaders, teachers, scientists, and artists who changed their communities and the world. That’s why this gift from MacKenzie Scott means so much. It honors the past and helps build a stronger future.

Morgan State University President David K. Wilson said,
“MacKenzie Scott’s renewed investment in Morgan is a resounding testament to the work we’ve done to drive transformation not only within our campus but throughout the communities we serve. To receive one historic gift from Ms. Scott was an incredible honor, and to receive two speaks volumes about the confidence she and her team have in our institution’s stewardship, leadership, and trajectory. This is more than philanthropy; it’s a partnership in progress.”
It’s important to note that to date MacKenzie Scott’s nonprofit Yield Giving has donated more than $19.25 billion to over 2,450 nonprofits. Her giving continues to change lives and strengthen communities across the country and proves that when generosity meets purpose the impact can last for generations.
